James Durbin, finalist on American Idol and current lead singer for Quiet Riot, came to Focus Academy as part of an outreach program sponsored by VSA Florida. Durbin played songs, talked about the challenges of growing up with Tourette's Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder, and took questions from students.

Students and staff enjoyed a wonderful get-to-know-you morning from 9 a.m. to noon, enjoying activities such as Minute to Win It, Beach Ball Parachute, karaoke, human foosball, and a staff vs. students kickball game.
